Elucidate

Let us lie under the protective covers of our intellect. 

Allow me to dive deep into your dialect, exposing membranes 

Eyelids pulsing, panting, painting pictures on the canvas of our minds

Using the colors of words so, 

Articulate.

Elucidate.

Grammatically engross me as we’re groping for understanding to reach the climax of comprehension 

Colloquial chess. I’m anxious to lose every pawn

Sacrificing small talk until we reach the orthodox;

Knights, Kings, Queens, pieces of weightier importance

But we abandon the rules, both determined to shout, check mate! 

Seeking satisfaction in surrender. 

Take any piece of mine/peace of mind you’d like. 

Knowing there is more than meets the eye, and 

I like what I see, 

but I’d rather love what I hear

Hearing you under the covers of our intellect, 

Grasping,

Groping for understanding 

as we reach the climax of comprehension, and 

Relate.
