I knew as I started this journey to get the book Inner Immigrant to print and to create the digital assests for the book I would want to explore other topics and that I would take rabbit trails, as is my custom. The book is called Inner Immigrant to express the truth that life is a journey, a long hike and sometimes we’re taking a road back to ourselves or away from ourselves. Neither is inherrently bad, both are to be observed regardless but most important is that, you keep moving. There are always detours, there are always turn-arounds but depending on your tempermant and perspectives there are always lessons. Not all lessons have to come from the wrong route, you don’t have to overdrive your nervous system to learn. Sometimes the consistentcy to just watch the clouds, the stream, the trees just to be amazed carries a lesson that needs no translation. However, one thing I’ve learned for sure is;
Undivided Attention is a Luxury
If you;
Value your attention
Enjoy moments to pause and contemplate
Like to work things out to their logical end
Discussion and deep dives around poetry, writing and life…
Continue to rock with me.
—- About the Poem —-
I was feeling down and if I can’t make it outdoors the piano can be a conduit to slowly wade and march through a mess of emotions. We’re up to 17 Rabbit Trail poems, this is the first of the series. Enjoy the poem and freestyle keys in the background. And subscribe maybe this substack can fund a poem or print book this following year.
